Healthy Peach Cobbler Recipe

Date:

I love peach season! Fresh peaches are one of those fruits that aren’t nearly as good when they aren’t in season. We typically just eat them (a lot of them!) when they are. Yummy peach cobbler is another great way to make use of this summer produce.

Easy Peach Cobbler Recipe

Peach season inspires new recipes at our house, including this ten-minute peach cobbler! It works with fresh (but not canned) peaches and is delicious. It’s also fast and easy to make a single serving. It’s healthier, grain-free, and naturally sweetened.

I love how this fresh peach cobbler is so buttery and not overly sweet like some recipes. We serve it with homemade whipped cream, but you could also add a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Try topping it off with some walnuts or pecans for an added crunchy taste. It may just be the best peach cobbler I’ve had!

Word of warning: this is different than the southern or old-fashioned peach cobbler recipes you’ll find most places. These use ingredients like brown sugar and all-purpose flour to make a golden brown cobbler topping. In my version, you don’t even have to pull out your baking dish! It has all of the flavors in a simplified version.

Other Filling Options

This recipe only works with fresh peaches (not canned peaches). You may be able to thaw and drain the peach juice from frozen peaches, but I haven’t tried it.

If peaches aren’t in season you can make this recipe with other fruits instead. Raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries all work well too. Or just make this berry crisp recipe. You can also use soft fruits like pears. Apples are a little too firm, but if you’re craving apple cobbler try this recipe.

A random note on the cream: I made homemade whipped cream with heavy whipping cream and a little stevia. I used a chopper blade on my immersion blender — the same one to grind coffee. I didn’t wash the coffee out first (because I’m lazy) and it was AH-MAZING! I highly recommend adding a tiny pinch of ground coffee to homemade whipping cream, though perhaps not on peaches …

Homemade Peach Cobbler Recipe

An incredibly fast cobbler with healthy ingredients. It can also be made with berries or other soft fruits.

  • In a skillet on the stove, melt the butter or coconut oil.

  • Add the sliced peaches to the melted butter and cook for about 5 minutes until just starting to soften.

  • Sprinkle ground cinnamon, cloves, and allspice over the top of the peaches.

  • Stir in almond flour, honey, and vanilla extract, coating the peach filling. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Whipped Cream

  • For the whipped cream, blend heavy whipping cream, vanilla extract, and honey in a blender or with an immersion blender until creamy. Avoid over-blending.

  • Serve the peach dessert warm, topped with whipped cream if desired.
